PAM HAINES

Owner of Sweet Peaches Cafe

“I’m grateful OneWest landed in our neighborhood. They listened to me, and I listened to them. They wanted to do good for this neighborhood, and so did I. There is no stopping us when we all work together.”

Sherelle & Andre Gore

Owner of Gore’s Smokeout BBQ
“It’s hard to be a small business trying to do something on your own and for them[OneWest] to add a little stability to everything is a blessing.”
OUR CONTRACTORS

OneWest places great importance on its relationship with contractors, who are instrumental in building the properties they are involved with. By fostering effective communication, shared objectives, and detailed planning, OneWest ensures a well-executed construction process. Working hand in hand with skilled contractors, they help construct exceptional properties that contribute to the revitalization of West End Louisville.

CORY BAILEY

Owner of Bailey Construction

“The greatest part is you are taking these historic homes, bringing them back, and making them into something that is going to be the pride of the West. I grew up in this neighborhood, and then to be right back here working on a project with OneWest. You couldn’t make this up if you wanted to.”

PORTIA SHOULDERS

Owner of PLSix Porta Potty Rentals

“OneWest is my foundation, my rock, and the support that has provided me with the resources and training that I needed from the beginning. They helped me navigate my business to become the first African American female-owned porta potty rental company in Kentucky.”
the-plan-room

The Plan Room is a fresh innovation that provides Black and Brown business owners with training, mentorship, and networking opportunities in a dedicated space at absolutely no cost to participants. The goal is to provide changemakers among us the technical assistance, skills, information, and resources they need to win contracts and improve racial minority representation in the construction industry.

A business accelerator, The Plan Room is designed for existing entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities to increase the economic, community, and environmental impact of small business and micro-enterprises throughout the west end of Louisville. The Plan Room has a passion to provide solutions to transform and assist business owners in one or more areas to achieve a greater level of success.

By filling in knowledge gaps and providing fresh resources and opportunity, we help build wealth and encourage more people to pursue careers they may not have considered otherwise.

In addition to hands-on educational experiences for Black and brown business owners, The Plan Room will also provide mentorship, professional services, and networking events – serving as a destination for developers and property owners to entertain bids and invest in diverse companies. This hub will be available to all business owners of color, regardless of whether they have participated in The Plan Room curriculum. This physical space will also house shared equipment that all Plan Room participants are welcome to use.
